FCC Takes Action to Accelerate Wireline Broadband Deployment

On June 7, 2018, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) adopted a Second Report and Order addressing the replacement of legacy voice and data services with advanced technologies.

In addition, the FCC eliminated the requirement for carriers to notify customers about certain changes that might impact their equipment, because safeguards are already in place.  These safeguards include requirements to ensure that covered services are accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities, or compatible with assistive technology, such as TTYs and analog captioned telephones.
